Job summary

Hatch Ltd. in Washington, DC seeks a Manager for Bus Operations and Service Planning with 10+ years of engineering experience to lead bus operations, maintenance, and service planning initiatives for transit projects.

You will manage projects, develop cost estimates, and act as a subject matter expert on bus fleet planning while collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams and clients to deliver innovative, sustainable solutions.

Qualifications

• BS degree in planning or related field.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible engineering experience.
• Experience working with major transit agencies.
• Experience managing bus fleet maintenance, quality control, and/or overhauls.
• Experience completing network redesigns of bus networks.
• Experience planning for new BRT service.
• Experience with business development and proposal development for consulting work.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects related to bus operations, maintenance, quality control and service planning.
• Provide technical expertise to support cross-discipline project teams planning, designing and implementing bus and paratransit solutions for our clients.
• Complete cost estimates associated with planned projects.
• Serve as subject matter expert on bus fleet planning.
• Develop cost estimates and life cycle analyses to assess existing bus operations.
• Review technical documents such as design plans and other engineering related deliverables.
• Produce quality assurance plans and oversee quality control programs.
• Prepare technical documents/reports and present to clients, project teams, etc.
• Develop and maintain productive working relationships.
• Continuous, effective communication and relationship building with clients in the development and implementation of projects.
• Collaborate on exciting projects to develop innovative solutions.
