Job summary

Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) offers a summer internship in Business Efficiency & Compliance Monitoring. The program provides hands-on transit industry experience across departments and an introduction to data analysis, reporting, and documentation tasks.

Interns will rotate through assignments, attend meetings, and contribute to ongoing projects under supervision. Open to college and graduate students pursuing relevant degrees; initial training provided.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of personal computers and standard office equipment.
• Proficient with spreadsheets, word processing and databases.
• Strong data analysis and reporting abilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Assist with data collection, input and report generation.
• Support preparation of management, operations, technical and administrative reports.
• Create tangible work products such as presentations and charts.
• Attend trainings and departmental meetings to gain exposure to transit functions.
• Participate in and/or lead departmental meetings and working sessions.
