Job summary

Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) is offering a summer internship designed to provide hands-on, practical transit industry experience across departments such as operations, safety, IT, planning, and business functions. The internship may extend beyond the summer for up to a full year based on performance and business needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required and must be enrolled in an accredited college/university.
• Major or concentration aligned with the internship duties; freshmen may be considered for summer onboarding.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.

Responsibilities

• Assist in data collection, validation and reporting.
• Support preparation of management, operations, technical and administrative reports.
• Create presentations, reports and data visuals for assigned department.
• Participate in and/or lead departmental meetings and training sessions.
