Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 3-5 years of civil engineering experience, preferably in transportation or station renewal.
• ADA accessibility experience including design, construction, or inspection activities.
• Familiarity with MTA design and construction standards and procedures.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations in construction.

Responsibilities

• Assist planning, design, construction, and field engineering for ADA upgrades and station renewal in the Bronx.
• Review design plans, specifications, and reports for ADA compliance.
• Conduct site visits and field inspections to verify conformance with design and ADA standards.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, project managers, inspectors, contractors, and team members to resolve engineering challenges.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and consultants to meet project goals on time and within budget.
• Support preparation and review of progress reports, RFIs, submittals, and inspection records.
• Ensure compliance with local/state/federal regulations and MTA requirements.
• Review contractor work plans, schedules, submittals, and change orders.
• Monitor progress and identify issues that could affect quality or schedule.
• Provide field engineering support and coordinate between field activities and design requirements.
• Document field conditions and coordinate resolution of construction/design issues.
