Job summary

RATP Dev USA is hiring a Transit Driver for the SunTran operation. You will drive a transit bus on fixed routes, assist passengers with travel decisions, and maintain a professional, friendly demeanor while ensuring safety and on-time service.

The role requires a CDL with Passenger Endorsement, clean driving record, and the ability to pass physicals and drug tests. Training is provided, with opportunities for growth and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• CDL with Passenger Endorsement required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Excellent driving record and safe driving history.
• Ability to pass physical exam and drug/alcohol test.

Responsibilities

• Transport passengers along fixed routes and assist with travel decisions.
• Maintain clean, professional appearance and demeanor.
• Assist passengers using wheelchairs or mobility devices.
• Follow assigned routes and report fares and ridership accurately.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report mechanical issues.
• Comply with DOT regulations and company policies.

• * Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections, noting any mechanical failures on an Operator Daily Report Sheet/Bus Log Sheet.
• * Adhere to fixed route procedures, including making verbal announcement of major intersections along the designated route.
• * Other duties as assigned.

• * Must be able to pass annual physical examination and alcohol/drug test.
• * Must maintain at least a satisfactory level on work performance evaluations. Should have a special sensitivity for the needs of the transit dependent, elderly and disabled.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Sitting, walking, standing, bending neck (up and down), twisting neck (side to side), twisting and bending waist (forward or sideways), squatting (similar to the bowling position), climbing, kneeling (to bend on one knee), simple grasping, controlled grasping, power grasping, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling, reaching above/below/at shoulder height and lifting/carrying 0 - 30 pounds.
