Job summary

Springbrook Software in Cottonwood, AZ is seeking a full-time Transit Operator to provide safe public transportation to shoppers, offices, schools, and other community destinations. On-site position under the Transportation Manager, you will drive a city bus in compliance with city, state, and federal regulations.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a CDL Class B with passenger endorsement (or ability to obtain), fingerprint clearance, and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDL Class B with passenger endorsement required or ability to obtain within specified timelines.
• Must obtain Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP) within 30 days of employment.
• Must obtain Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with passenger endorsement within 60 days of employment.
• Must possess or obtain Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Must provide 39-month AZMVD motor vehicle report upon acceptance of offer.
• Two years driving multi-passenger commercial vehicles is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate a city bus in a safe and timely manner.
• Provide public transportation to designated routes and stops.
• Comply with city, state, and federal regulations at all times.
• Assist passengers with boarding/alighting and provide customer service as needed.

DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision of theTransportation Manager, provides public transportation services to shoppingcenters, doctor’s offices, work, school, daycare, etc. in a safe and timelymanner; operates a city bus in accordance with city, state, and federalregulations; and performs related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Thisclassification involves light to heavy lifting and carrying due topassengers/parcels as required on and off the vehicle wheelchair lift/ramp. Mustbe physically fit to perform the required duties of driving transportationvehicles and maintain DOT Medical clearance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The equivalentof a high school diploma or GED. The possession of or ability to obtain aCommercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class B, with passenger endorsement isrequired. If not in possession upon offer, must obtain Commercial Learner’sPermit (CLP) within 30 days of employment and must obtain Commercial Driver’sLicense (CDL), Class B, with passenger endorsement is required within 60 daysof employment. Must have or be able toobtain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance card. Must provide 39-month AZMVDmotor vehicle report upon acceptance of employment offer. SPECIAL CONDITIONS

All new hires forthe Cottonwood Area Transit System department are required to pass a post-joboffer, pre-employment drug test. All employees who work in the Cottonwood AreaTransit Department will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
