Job summary

Intercity Transit in Washington state seeks a skilled Diesel Technician to join the Fleet Maintenance team. The role performs diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and repairs across diesel, gasoline, propane, and hybrid vehicles. It is safety-sensitive and involves random drug testing under policy.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, diesel training, and significant vehicle maintenance experience, with ASE and CDL endorsements highly valued.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of diesel vehicle training programs.
  • Four years of vehicle maintenance/repair experience or equivalent.
  • ASE Master Certification is preferred.
  • Class B CDL with passenger endorsement or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Willingness to pass background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine safety and preventive maintenance inspections.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace parts as needed.
  • Diagnose electrical problems and repair wiring/components.
  • Diagnose and repair complex electronic control systems (engine, transmission, ABS, multiplexing).
  • Repair/replace differentials, drive lines, wheel bearings, and steering components.
  • Inspect and service engine, fuel, and transmission systems; record modifications.
