Job summary

Kitsap Transit is seeking a bus operator to run designated routes in the Bremerton area. You will collect fares, sell passes, and share schedule information with passengers while ensuring safety and on-time performance.

You will also complete trip and incident reports, inspect the bus, monitor the radio, and report any issues. Applicants must be 18+, hold a valid Washington CDL with a passenger endorsement, and obtain security clearance for access to naval facilities.

Qualifications

• Must interact with passengers courteously and independently.
• Accurately handle cash transactions and maintain a cash fund.
• Ability to communicate transit policies and schedules clearly.

Responsibilities

• Operate a mass transit vehicle along designated routes and adhere to schedules.
• Collect fare from passengers, sell passes, and ensure accurate transactions.
• Provide information on routes and schedules for subscription services.
• Communicate transit policies and procedures to passengers.
• Complete and submit required documentation in a timely manner.
• Prepare the bus for operation by checking brakes and equipment.
• Monitor the two-way radio and report unusual conditions.
