Job summary

Core Transit is hiring a Transit Bus Operator to ensure safe, reliable transportation for our community. You will drive routes, assist passengers, and maintain safety standards while delivering excellent customer service.

The role involves a 6–8 week paid CDL training, with full attendance, and schedules set by seniority. Benefits include paid time off, bilingual pay incentives, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory motor vehicle record.
• CDL Class B preferred with passenger and air brake endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough, federally mandated pre- and post-trip inspections for vehicle safety.
• Practice safe defensive driving, staying alert to speed and road conditions.
• Assist passengers, including those with disabilities, ensuring ADA compliance and a welcoming experience.
• Share route and schedule information to help riders reach destinations on time.
• Operate transit equipment, dispatch systems, and security cameras with confidence.
• Communicate professionally with dispatch and passengers and follow policies.
