Description
Performs safe manual operation of various sized and weighted commercial vehicles on all State and local travel ways according to defined transit routes and schedules; related work as apparent or assigned. Work performed under general supervision of the Transit Operations Supervisor. This is a United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) Safety Sensitive position and is subject to mandatory, random drug and alcohol testing pursuant to Federal and City regulations and policies.

This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, bending, reaching, squatting, and stooping. Position also requires hand dexterity (grasping, holding, keyboarding, repetitive movements), reading, writing, eye-hand coordination, seeing (near and/or far, color, depth, field of vision), hearing, using the telephone, contact with government officials and the general public, working overtime, and working alone. Work frequently requires working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles and exposure to outdoor weather conditions and occasionally requires wet, humid conditions (non-weather), working in high, precarious places, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, exposure to extreme cold (non-weather), exposure to extreme heat (non-weather); work is generally in a loud noise location (e.g. grounds maintenance, heavy traffic).
