VHB’s Transit & Rail Summer Internship in Boston, MA is designed to introduce students into the workforce. The program builds essential professional skills by offering opportunities for hands‑on learning in a supportive yet challenging environment. The internship rounds out participants’ academic learning with real world experience and helps them explore related areas of practice to find the best fit for their career path.
The internship term runs from July 2026 to August 2026.
VHB has a dedicated Transit & Rail Practice providing integrated services for commuter rail, heavy rail, light rail, intercity/high‑speed rail, freight rail, bus rapid transit, bus, and streetcar systems in urban, suburban, and rural environments. Our team assists transportation agencies through all phases of a project with environmental documentation, station, facility, and right‑of‑way design; transit/rail structures; rail systems; planning; cost estimation; grant submittals; demand estimation; and operations analysis and simulation.
Our best estimate of the hourly salary for this position located in Boston is $20 per hour. VHB does not provide housing for internships.
