Infrastructure Program and Construction Manager

GEMS Inc. seeks a Rail and Transit Engineer to join their Seattle Mobility Unit who will be responsible for providing leadership and expertise in rail and multi-modal transit engineering disciplines. The incumbent will build, oversee, and guide a team of engineers, ensuring the successful delivery of projects related to rail and transit infrastructure. This role involves project management, technical expertise, and collaboration with various stakeholders to achieve high-quality and efficient outcomes.

As the Rail and Transit Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in building, leading, and managing the rail and transit discipline. You will be responsible for the successful delivery of projects and providing technical expertise in rail and transit engineering.

  • Collaboration with multi-discipline teams, overseeing a diverse range of projects, including large transit programs. These programs may encompass infrastructure-related initiatives, including new or rehabilitated tunnels, tracks, stations, signaling, utilities, bridges, and systems.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Provide strong leadership to the rail and transit discipline team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, design, and execution of rail and transit projects from concept to completion, ensuring quality and timely delivery. Collaborate with project managers to resolve any issues that may arise. Be responsible for the scope, schedule, and budget of projects.
  • Delivery: Serve as a Design or Technical Lead on larger projects.
  • Client Interaction: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Team Development: Mentor and guide team members, fostering professional growth and development within the rail and transit discipline.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other discipline leaders and departments to ensure seamless integration of rail and transit components within larger projects.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure projects adhere to all relevant regulations, codes, and safety standards in the rail and transit sector.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in rail and transit engineering with a proven record in project management.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in civil engineering, Systems Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.

Key Skills/Attributes:

  • In-depth knowledge of multi-modal transportation design standards and regulations.
  • Experience in working on projects with/for contractors is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PE Professional Engineer License
