Job summary

SGB-SMIT USA is a division of SGB‑SMIT Group, an international transformer manufacturer with locations in Europe, Asia and America. We produce power transformers, distribution transformers, cast‑resin transformers and custom data center solutions, supporting energy transition across industries.

The on-site role focuses on winding assembly, interpretation of drawings, material preparation and the use of specialized equipment to ensure high‑quality transformer components.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Welding certification preferred.
• 1 year of manufacturing experience required; transformer manufacturing experience preferred.
• Military experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Setup winding mandrels by building forms.
• Interpret engineering drawings and instructions.
• Wind coils per engineering instructions.
• Braze connections as required by engineering instructions.
• Hand taping of all exposed conductor according to engineering instructions.
• Create crossovers as required by engineering instructions.
• Modify stock materials within tolerances according to engineering instructions.
• Perform and verify all work accordance with manufacturing methods (checklists).
• Prepare and size coils.
• Use tow-motor, coil up-ender, coil press and overhead crane as required for job duties.
• Maintain extremely clean winding facilities and equipment.
