Sunbelt Solomon is seeking a Paint Technician to prepare and paint transformer units while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards. The role involves following work orders, assessing units for defects, mixing paints, maintaining equipment, and preparing units for final assembly.

A strong emphasis on safety and teamwork is essential in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Preferred candidates will have a High School diploma or GED, OSHA 10 certification, and prior paint

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • OSHA 10 certification preferred.
  • 1 year experience in paint manufacturing preferred.
  • 1 year experience with material handling equipment preferred (forklift, crane).
  • Knowledge of basic hand tools preferred.
  • A proven track record in safety excellence is required.

Responsibilities

  • Review checklist and follow work order instructions to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Assess units prior to painting and check for issues; elevate defects to lead or supervisor if discovered.
  • Mix paint and ensure viscosity matches specifications.
  • Replace paint in pots/drums as needed.
  • Ensure paint guns are in working order and spray pattern is correct.
  • Clean unit with air or tack cloth as needed.
  • Apply primer and paint to meet quality expectations.
  • Inspect unit after painting for quality compliance.
  • Move completed unit to final assembly.
