Job summary

IDEA Public Schools in Houston seeks a Special Education RISE teacher to serve students with wide-ranging disabilities, delivering Reading, Writing, Math, History and Adaptive PE. You will collaborate with families, develop IEPs, and coordinate related services while maintaining ambitious academic expectations for every student.

Role requires Texas Special Education certification, a Bachelor’s degree, and experience in a Special Education classroom.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four‑year educational institution (required)
• Experience in a Special Education classroom with significant disabilities (strongly preferred)
• Licenses: Valid Texas Special Education certification (required)

Responsibilities

• Adapt lessons to meet student needs
• Develop IEPs for a caseload of students
• Implement IEPs and assess student progress
• Collect and analyze student data to inform instruction
• Communicate student progress weekly with families
• Support related services coordination for students on caseload
• Host tutoring sessions after school or on Saturdays as needed
