Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
• One or more years’ experience with population of the facility preferred.
• Knowledge of developmental stages and behaviors for age group.

Responsibilities

• Identify educational needs of students and develop educational plans.
• Create lesson plans and teach subjects; help students study and communicate.
• Observe students to evaluate abilities and assist improvement.
• Teach and mentor students individually or in groups.
• Communicate progress with families, counselors, and teachers.
• Work with students to overcome learning challenges and prepare for tests.
• Document goals and progress as required by facility and state.
• Supervise classroom to maintain a positive learning environment.
• Develop and enforce classroom rules and policies.
• Supervise students outside class, including lunch/detention.
• Adhere to treatment plans and participate in team meetings.
• Demonstrate empathetic and professional attitude toward patients.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Education

One or more years’ experience working with population of facility
