Job summary

ACCEL Day and Evening Academy in Mobile, Alabama seeks a TEAMS Classroom Teacher (Math and Science) to join its 189-day contract. The role involves planning lessons aligned to state standards, collaborating with colleagues, and supporting students’ academic growth.

Qualified candidates hold a Bachelor's degree and valid teaching certification in middle/high school math and science; NBPTS certification or advanced credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and teaching certification in middle/high school math and science.
• NBPTS certification or advanced credential in math or science preferred.
• Experience or expertise in subject matter and/or direct subject-area teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop lesson plans meeting state standards and network-specific standards.
• Coordinate plans with colleagues to reinforce interdisciplinary topics.
• Provide direct and indirect instruction and long/short-term planning.
• Prepare students for assessments and monitor progress with formative assessments.
• Maintain an engaging, innovative learning environment and manage the classroom.
