Job summary

Morrow is seeking a Transfer Station Attendant to support environmentally responsible waste management operations. You will operate loaders, forklifts, and excavators to move recyclable and solid waste, ensuring safety and efficiency at the transfer station.

This outdoor role involves handling varied materials, performing equipment inspections, and assisting with landfill tasks while maintaining compliance with environmental regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of solid waste management practices and disposal.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting outdoors.
• Certified forklift or heavy equipment operation is a plus but not required; training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Operate material handling equipment (loaders, forklifts, front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, excavators) to load and transport recyclable and solid waste materials.
• Manage recyclable materials handling in line with environmental compliance standards and hazardous materials regulations.
• Perform routine inspections of equipment and conduct basic maintenance as needed.
• Assist with landfill management activities including waste sorting and sanitation to maintain cleanliness of the transfer station area.
• Follow safety regulations using PPE, adhere to protocols, and report hazards promptly.
• Support outdoor work activities such as garbage truck operations, heavy lifting, cleanliness, and yard maintenance.
• Document operational activities through logs and reports to ensure compliance with environmental standards and company policies.

Requirements

• Prior experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, forklifts, or similar machinery is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of solid waste management practices including recycling processes and landfill operations.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and outdoor work in various weather conditions.
• Mechanical knowledge or experience with material handling equipment operation is advantageous.
• Familiarity with safety regulations related to sanitation, hazardous materials handling, and environmental compliance.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent safety protocol adherence skills.
• Valid certifications for forklift operation or heavy equipment operation are a plus but not mandatory; training can be provided for qualified candidates.
