Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Class A CDL Truck Driver to join our local team.

This role features home daily, local shuttle routes, and a schedule of 30–35 hours per week, with hourly pay of $19 and weekly pay of $570 based on 30 hours. We provide uniforms, boot and cell phone allowances, PTO from day one, medical/dental/vision plans, a 401(k) with company match after one year, paid maternity leave, and other driver-focused benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have CDL-A with endorsements as required for the position.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a commercial vehicle and comply with DOT regulations.
• Maintain accurate logs and records as required by company and law.
• Assist with route shuttle movements between Ryder facilities.

Weekly Pay $570 per week (based 30 hours) And it gets better -

• Driver Positions Pay Weekly
• Hourly Pay: $19.00 Per Hour
• Home Time: Local - Home Daily
• Schedule:Mon, Tues, Wed (30-35 hours per week)
• Start Time: 8 AM

All Drivers have 24/7 Roadside Maintenance by a Ryder Trained Technician plus Service Employees fuel up our trucks at all 800+ Maintenance Facilities

• Route: Shuttle Equipment between Ryder Customer Facilities
• Freight:No Touch - Empty Trailers for Equipment Shuttle Transfer Movement

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
  • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
  • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
  • 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years

• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities

• This position is primarily responsible for safely driving a commercial vehicle and requires compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service

Additional Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records and logs Other tasks as assigned
