Macfarlanes seeks a diligent Investor Intelligence professional to deepen expertise in private markets and contribute to a high-performing, international team. You will conduct market research, analyze fund-structuring trends and prepare insightful reports for private capital clients and industry press.

The role sits in our New York office and requires strong communication, presentation skills, and the ability to work across cross-functional teams in a transatlantic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, statistics or related field.
• 1–3 years’ experience in a finance-related field (e.g., consulting, investment analysis, financial journalism or investor relations).
• High attention to detail and accuracy; strong analytical skills.
• Strong written skills and ability to produce precise content; strong communication and presentation skills.
• Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills; CAIA or CFA qualifications desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research into trends impacting fund structuring and fundraising for US/AMER markets.
• Analyze research to produce and present written analysis for clients and industry press.
• Collaborate with marketing, BD and design to develop research and thought leadership pieces.
• Prepare and maintain strategic client reports on bespoke fundraising questions.
• Collaborate across practice areas to integrate legal expertise with market insights.
• Attend conferences and industry events in the US and internationally as an ambassador for the firm.
