Job summary

DLA Piper is seeking a Transactions Assistant in Chicago with a hybrid work schedule. You will support paralegals and attorneys by organizing files, updating closing checklists, preparing and compiling transaction documents, and maintaining databases.

You will also assist with closings and related administrative tasks. The role requires basic Word/Excel/Outlook skills, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Together.**Summary**As a Transactions Assistant, working in collaboration with and in support of the firm’s strategic initiatives, you will assist the paralegals and/or attorneys by maintaining and organizing files; preparing and updating closing checklists; preparing and compiling transaction documents; updating and maintaining databases; preparing closing books, obtaining information for internal and external sources, and performing other administrative tasks. **Location**This position is located in our Chicago office and offers a hybrid work schedule. **Responsibilities*** Organize documents for attorney review.* Research public records using internal and public websites.* Prepare and update closing checklists, prepare closing books, make copies, and organize and maintain files.* Perform database research and data entry.* Assist with transaction closings.* Obtain signatures and compile execution versions of closing documents with necessary exhibits.* Assist paralegals and attorneys with mailings and filings.* Other duties.**Desired Skills**Demonstrated basic level of proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and database experience. Office experience in a law firm environment supporting paralegals and/or attorneys preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills required to interact with paralegals, attorneys and clients on a regular basis. Excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills necessary to manage volumes of documents, binders, letters, charts, etc. Must have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The firm’s expected hiring range for this position is $34.09 - $44.32 per hour depending on the candidate’s geographic market location.
