Job summary

Lockton’s Transaction Advisory Practice (TAP) seeks a Transaction Analyst in San Francisco to support due diligence for private equity clients. You will review data rooms, collect data, and summarize information provided by target companies, gaining exposure to M&A, private equity, and insurance-related diligence.

You’ll work with TAP Advisors, coordinating documents, building financial visuals, and helping assemble client-ready reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or Accounting, or equivalent.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude and business sense.
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of financial statements related to P&C.
  • Ability to compile, analyze, present financial information with accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Willingness to take initiative and ownership.
  • Professional written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Transaction Advisors in managing the property and casualty insurance due diligence process for private equity and corporate clients.
  • Interface with data rooms, coordinate data collection and organization of documents for analysis.
  • Create financial spreadsheets and illustrations based on data analyses.
  • Review insurance policies, carrier loss runs, exposure information, contracts, and related materials.
  • Coordinate distribution of documents to internal teams for specialized analysis with clear timelines.
  • Maintain data request tracking lists and update as needed.
  • Serve as a back-up contact for multiple Transaction Advisors.
  • Assist in producing high-quality, professional reports for clients.

Your Responsibilities

The Transaction Advisory Practice (TAP) provides consultative property & casualty insurance and employee benefits due diligence advisory services to the private equity community and Lockton’s existing client base. This team of experienced professionals provides a comprehensive assessment of the financial impact of insurance and employee benefits on a potential acquisition from both a purchase price and ongoing operational perspective.

Your Responsibilities

The Transaction Advisory Practice (TAP) provides consultative property & casualty insurance and employee benefits due diligence advisory services to the private equity community and Lockton’s existing client base. This team of experienced professionals provides a comprehensive assessment of the financial impact of insurance and employee benefits on a potential acquisition from both a purchase price and ongoing operational perspective.

As a Transaction Analyst, you will provide deal-specific transaction support to TAP Transaction Advisors by reviewing virtual data rooms, collecting data, and summarizing the information provided by the target corporation. The Transaction Analyst will learn the world of private equity, M&A, and due diligence and how it intersects with property and casualty insurance.

Role Responsibilities
  • Responsible for assisting Transaction Advisors in managing the property and casualty insurance due diligence process for our private equity and corporate clients, including:
  • Assist in all facets of electronic and paper data collection processes with organization of documents for analysis.
  • Populate and/or create financial spreadsheets and illustrations based upon data financial analysis.
  • Review documents and agreements such as insurance policies, carrier loss runs, exposure information, contracts, and other related materials.
  • Coordinate distribution of documents to internal departments for specialized analysis, while communicating scope of review and timelines for deliverables.
  • Maintain detailed data request tracking lists, to be updated on an as needed basis.
  • Serve as a back-up contact for multiple Transaction Advisors for both internal and external contacts.
  • Assist with the construction and assembly of highly professional reports of industry leading quality.
  • Assist Transaction Advisor in delivering and communicating transactional deal issues as they arise, and our final written findings to the client - the private equity buyer or operating company C-suite executives.
  • Responsible for liaising with Lockton service teams and the client on the transition of new business to Lockton.
  • Performs other responsibilities and duties as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree(Finance, Business, Accounting preferred) or equivalent education and/or work experience
  • Aptitude in mathematical calculations and general business acumen.
  • Ability to successfully adapt in a dynamic, changing, fast-paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of financial statements in relation to property and casualty concepts.
  • Ability to compile, analyze, present and interpret financial information, accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Organizational and time management skills to prioritize workloads to meet time sensitive deadlines.
  • Willingness and ability to take initiative and ownership in work/projects and see through completion.
  • Ability to communicate professionally in written correspondence.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with Associates at all levels.
  • Legally able to work in the United
