Job summary

United Launch Alliance in Colorado is seeking a capable engineer to design, develop, and verify trajectory simulations that merge launch vehicle constraints with system requirements. You will create detailed 3-DOF and 6-DOF simulations for the full vehicle and upper stage, supporting internal and external analyses and collaborating across subsystems.

Proficiency with MATLAB, C/C++, Python and a Linux environment is expected.

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Independent worker with capability to solve complex problems
  • Familiar with Linux Environment

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and verifies trajectory simulations which merge launch vehicle constraints and capabilities with vehicle and system requirements/objectives.
  • Develop detailed 3-DOF and 6-DOF simulation capabilities of the entire launch vehicle and upper stage phases of flight to support internal and external customer needs and analyses.

Job Overview & Responsibilities

Designs, develops, and verifies trajectory simulations which merge launch vehicle constraints and capabilities with vehicle and system requirements/objectives. Develop detailed 3-DOF and 6-DOF simulation capabilities of the entire launch vehicle and upper stage phases of flight to support internal and external customer needs and analyses. Ability to work with other sub-systems.

Familiarity with Linux environment and Software Tools such as MATLAB, C/C++, Python

Ability to combine information and constraints into a cohesive mission design that meets performance, accuracy, environmental, structural, and operational requirements.

Summary Salary Range (forULA - Denver only): $70,952.00 - $118,253.00

Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon a candidate's experience and qualifications, as well as internal equity, market and business considerations. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in addition to base pay.
