Job summary

Rocky Top Catering, in partnership with the University of North Carolina, seeks a dependable Training Table Server for UNC's Training Table program. The role involves maintaining a clean, welcoming buffet, stocking stations, and delivering friendly service to student-athletes.

Shifts are early mornings, with occasional weekend events. This is a part-time position with potential full-time hours based on UNC events, requiring reliability, teamwork, and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Previous serving, buffet, or hospitality experience preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service skills and a friendly, positive attitude.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality, especially for early morning shifts.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced setting while maintaining professionalism.
• Willingness to work occasional weekends based on UNC event schedules.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine physical tasks, including lifting and carrying supplies as needed.

Responsibilities

• Monitor buffet stations throughout meal service to ensure food is replenished and presented properly.
• Maintain clean, organized, and attractive buffet areas, dining spaces, and service stations.
• Replenish food, plates, utensils, napkins, and other service supplies as needed.
• Provide friendly, professional, and attentive service to student-athletes and guests.
• Polish silverware and assist with the preparation and setup of dining areas before service.
• Clear used dishes, wipe tables, and maintain cleanliness throughout the dining area.
• Communicate with kitchen staff regarding low food levels, service needs, and any concerns.
• Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including breakdown and resetting of service areas.
• Support additional UNC catering and athletic events, including occasional weekend assignments.
