Job summary

ASEC is seeking a Training Systems Engineer to provide technical and systems-engineering support to the F/A-18 IPTL within PMA-205. The role focuses on identifying risks, improving system performance, and ensuring hardware/software solutions meet requirements and cybersecurity standards.

The position requires a TS/SCI-eligible clearance, is fully on-site at NAS Patuxent River, MD, and involves coordinating with government and contractor teams to support design reviews, installations, and risk

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in supporting complex hardware and software systems in a DoD or regulated environment.
• Ability to evaluate computer hardware and make technically sound refresh or replacement recommendations.
• Experience participating in technical reviews, design reviews, software installations, testing, and system acceptance activities.
• Knowledge of systems engineering principles, requirements analysis, integration, verification, and validation.
• Familiarity with RMF and its relationship to system design and software implementation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate technology and provide hardware recommendations for computing hardware and components.
• Analyze hardware alternatives for performance, cybersecurity, lifecycle, availability, and cost.
• Plan and lead Technical Interchange Meetings with government, contractor, engineering, cybersecurity, and program stakeholders.
• Attend design reviews to identify barriers, dependencies, and risks to proposed solutions.
• Support software installations and verify configurations comply with technical documentation.
• Review and assist with hardware/software verification and acceptance activities.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and communicate progress.
