Job summary

TEEX seeks a Training Support Technician I for 1st shift (6:30 am – 3:00 pm) in College Station, TX. Under supervision, you will perform preventative maintenance and basic repair of ESTI fire field training props, and handle minor building maintenance tasks. You may also support other TEEX programs.

The role reports to the Maintenance Foreman and requires a HS diploma/GED with basic trades experience. Training and certifications will be provided where available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of maintenance experience in basic trades.
• Valid driver's license or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Willingness to complete listed trainings and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and basic repair of ESTI fire field training props.
• Handle minor building maintenance and repair requests.
• Support other TEEX programs as needed.

**Training Support Technician I (1st Shift)****$20.59 per hour****2 Full-Time Positions****College Station, Texas****The Role at a Glance** The Training Support Technician I (**1st Shift, 6:30 am – 3:00 pm)**, under supervision, performs preventative maintenance and basic repair of Emergency Services Training Institute (ESTI) fire field training props. This position is responsible for performing minor building maintenance and repair requests. This position may also be required to support other programs. This position reports to the Maintenance Foreman.**Qualifications of the Role** * High School Diploma or GED* One year of maintenance experience such as: + Basic electrical, basic carpentry, basic plumbing, basic equipment operation, building trades, or construction experience to include any combination of the following: welding, pipefitting, plumbing, concrete, basic electrical, carpentry, heavy equipment operation, and use of hand/power tools.* Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.* Completes listed out-sourced training as available to include (within 6 months): + ESTI Safety Orientation, Skid Steer Loader, Forklift, Material Handler, Man Lift, Iron Worker, Riding Mowers, and Mule.* Obtains listed certifications as available to include (within 18 months): + 24-hour welding. + LPG Installation. + DOT Cylinder Filling. *Equivalency: Will consider an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree with no prior experience.***About Us** The Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) is an internationally recognized leader in emergency response training, workforce training, and technical assistance.Major TEEX competencies include fire and rescue, infrastructure and safety, law enforcement, cybersecurity, economic and workforce development, and homeland security.
