Job summary

Exelon is seeking an experienced professional to direct and optimize Electric Ops Training and OJT programs, prioritizing safety, reliability and efficiency. You will plan, coordinate, and supervise Crew Leaders, Demos and Apprentices/Helpers, and implement company policies.

The role may require extended hours during storms or energy delivery emergencies. You will direct craft employees' training, foster a high-performance culture, coach and evaluate performance, and ensure open communication.

Primary Purpose

Directs and is responsible for optimizing the practices, policies, and procedures to ensure delivery of the Electric Ops Training and OJT programs in a safe, reliable and efficient manner with the welfare of employees, customers, the public and shareholders in mind. Plans, directs, coordinates and supervises Crew Leaders, Demos and Apprentices/Helpers. Implements Company and departmental policies, initiatives, procedures & guidelines in order to satisfy corporate, business unit, municipal and regulatory requirements. Maintain and apply a working knowledge of the Exelon Management Model for business controls and meet management's expectation for conducting effective business. Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

Primary Duties
  • Plan, coordinate, and direct craft employees engaged in the execution and delivery of scheduled training and OJT activities, to assure the highest levels of customer services and maintenance to achieve Exelon's safety, reliability and performance goals.
  • Promote and maintain an environment that fosters a high-performance culture and a learning organization. Serves as a change agent for business initiatives and assures the human element is understood and considered. Provides timely recognition of employee contributions. Provide coaching, training, and evaluate employee performance.
  • Facilitates open and honest communication with staff. Assures that upward communication is integrated into the process, including employee concerns and complaints. Develop methods to assess communication effectiveness and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Establish, maintain and improve relationships with other departments in Exelon.
  • Manage Union/management relationships and engage local union stewards to effectively facilitate the Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Work within departmental budgets. Plan resource coverage, execute and evaluate training and OJT effectiveness directed at achievement of business plans and business unit objectives.
  • Manage large-scale training projects.
Job Scope

We are seeking an experienced professional with at least five years of proven expertise in the installation and testing of protective relaying, metering, SCADA communications systems, and protective equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of advanced power system analysis, system protection fundamentals, and AC/DC circuit theory, enabling them to contribute effectively to the design, reliability, and performance of critical power systems. This position supports various Supervisor Field Ops Training roles within Distribution Operations; OH progression / refresher, OES promotional, FLS Academy. Ideal skill set includes: Leadership, facilitation, training program instruction and program management experience, field processes & safety guideline knowledge and strong organizational and time management skills.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 4-7 years of internal utility experience or equivalent external industry experience.
  • Prior supervisory experience will be evaluated following the interview:
  • Candidates with 2-3 years of recent internal supervisory experience will not require additional assessment. -Candidates without internal supervisory experience, including external applicants, all others will be required to complete the Supervisory Assessment if selected to move forward after the interview.
  • The Supervisory Assessment is administered only to candidates who advance beyond the interview stage and who do not meet the internal supervisory experience threshold.
  • Candidates meeting the 4-7 years of utility experience requirement (or equivalent) will be advanced for further review.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and related processes.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in installation and testing of protective relaying, metering, SCADA communications systems, and protective equipment.
  • Working knowledge of advanced power system analysis, system protection fundamentals, and AC/DC circuit theory.
  • Ability to troubleshoot relay and control systems and operate associated software.
  • Experience supporting field work associated with OJT.

  • Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $96,800.00/Yr. – $133,100.00/Yr.
