Job summary

BJ's Wholesale Club in Kentucky is seeking a Training Supervisor to develop user friendly training concepts and rapidly bring new team members to productivity. You will lead onboarding, coach staff, and help implement continuous improvement in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Responsibilities include data collection/analysis, safety compliance, and coordinating with HR and other supervisors to ensure effective training and staffing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Warehouse experience recommended.
• English reading/writing ability required.
• Proficient with email, word processing, spreadsheets and WMS.
• Ability to coach and provide constructive feedback.

• Train and mentor team members.
• Oversee onboarding, retention, training and retraining.
• Ensure safety/compliance and operate MHE per training.
• Monitor attendance and time punches.
• Partner with supervisors to support new hires.
• Perform Warehouse Supervisor duties when not training.

Job Summary:

As a Training Supervisor, you will be responsible for developing user friendly training concepts to rapidly get new team members up to productivity levels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Regular and consistent attendance as scheduled
• Train and mentor team members as appropriate
• Responsible for department onboarding, retention, training and re-training
• Apply strong math skills that result in identification of opportunities and justify action plan recommendations
• Collect/analyze data to ensure team members are progressing at a satisfactory rate
• Asses/identify areas of opportunity with training then develop and implement a continuous improvement plan
• Conduct warehouse inspections for safety/sanitation compliance to all regulatory guidelines
• Certify team members in appropriate MHE required by position
• Understand the Emergency Procedures, ensure they are accessible and participate in update reviews.
• Check computerized time/attendance on a daily basis to verify team members have the proper time clock punches in the system
• Ensure all team member forms for Time Adjustment, PTO requests, etc. are coordinated for staffing purposes and turned into HR timely for processing in the correct pay period.
• Partner with other supervisors to ensure comprehensive training and support of new hires, as well as transition when reporting relationship changes
• Evaluate and report on team member progress, providing guidance to other supervisors on additional training required or limits on ability to progress
• When not actively training warehouse team members, perform Warehouse Supervisor duties.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED. College coursework, continuing technical education or comparable business experience is a plus
• Warehouse experience preferred
• Experience operating Material Handling Equipment preferred Skills & Qualifications
• Ability to remain calm and focused while prioritizing requests from multiple sources
• Ability to provide clear and constructive feedback, coaching, and counseling
• Able to read, write, speak and understand English
• Ability to read and understand label data
• Ability to read small print on packaging and paperwork, with or without corrective lenses
• Ability to take directions using the headset selection system (such as VoCollect)
• Ability to utilize equipment for the job safely and accurately after training (such as computer, handheld tracker, copiers, scanners, printers, radio headsets, forklift, reach truck, etc.)
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to use email, word-processing, spreadsheets, WMS and other applications
• Ability to accommodate flexible schedules to meet the needs of the member to include nights, weekends, and holidays

Environmental Job Conditions:

• Independently lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and 100 lbs. occasionally
• Sit, stand, walk bend, squat on a frequent to continual basis in a refrigerated warehouse environment
• Grasp, reach, push or pull (such as boxes of product, or a hand truck) on a frequent basis
• Ability to build pallets up to 6 feet tall with case weights up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work at elevated heights while wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as fall protection harnesses)
• Ability to reach above shoulder level frequently
• Ability to utilize good hand-eye coordination and depth perception to operate forklift, reach truck, and HiLo safely and accurately
• Able to step up onto and down from equipment as required by task (such as forklift, reach truck, etc.)
• Endurance for continuous, fast paced work
• Fluctuating temperatures within the perishable DC including freezing temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit
• Ability to work in a noisy warehouse environment
• Able to wear and communicate through headsets for long periods of time as required by location
• Able to work while wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as steel-toed protective footwear, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, insulated clothing, etc)
• Products may contain food allergens (such as fish, shellfish, peanuts, etc.)
• Utilize equipment for the job safely and accurately after training (such as computer, handheld tracker, copiers, scanners, printers, radio headsets, etc.)

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $58,000.00.
