Job summary

FM Industries is seeking a Training Specialist I in Fremont, CA to design, deliver, and continuously improve training programs for Team Members. The role focuses on elevating skills, productivity, and quality through effective instruction and on-the-job training.

Responsibilities include producing classroom and online materials, partnering with the T&D team, and coordinating large events while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. Strong communication and independent work style are desired.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years’ experience managing, designing, developing, coordinating, and conducting training programs.
• Mostly independent; can design and prioritize work with limited supervision and direction.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively mandatory.
• Content development / Instructional design experience a plus

• Trains workforce on company-wide work standards and processes.
• Provides support in the planning and implementation of large events and meetings.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

This position is responsible for the design, delivery and continuous improvement of training programs to improve the skills, productivity, quality of work and performance of Team Members

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Develop or oversee the production of classroom and online instructional materials, job aids, computer presentations, manuals, workbooks, and scripts.
• Collaborates with other members of the T&D team, and internal stakeholders to identify training needs, determine strategies and execute learning solutions that meet those needs.
• Creates graphical and video-based work instructions where required.
• Creates and tracks On-the-Job (OJT) training requirements for key production roles.
• Trains workforce on company-wide work standards and processes.
• Provides support in the planning and implementation of large events and meetings.
• Complies with applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations, Company policy and accepted safe work practices.
• Performs additional related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• 2-4 years’ experience managing, designing, developing, coordinating, and conducting training programs.
• Mostly independent; can design and prioritize work with limited supervision and direction.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively mandatory.
• Creative problem solver with strong analytical skills.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, multi-tasked, high-energy environment.
• High skill level with desktop/Laptop computer skills using Microsoft Window Office products.
• Clear, effective communicator verbally and in writing with superior interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences.
• Formal training in the areas of adult learning, technical training, technical documentation and editing preferred.
• Content development / Instructional design experience a plus
• Experience using instructional design tools such as Storyline, Captivate a plus.
• Familiarity working in and around a formal documentation environment (i.e. ISO9001) a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS WHILE PERFORMING THE JOB:

• Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor
• Ability to operate a computer, mouse, and computer applications.
• Exert up to 25 pounds occasionally
• Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading instrumentation and documentation.
• Able to hear and understand spoken directions

WORKING ENVIRONMENT OF THE JOB:

• Approximately 90/10 office/shop floor environment
• Low noise levels in office environment.
• High noise levels while working near operating machines.
• Physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts
• Possible breathing of fumes, odors, dust, and mist.
