The U.S. Marine Corps Provost Marshal Office/Marine Corps Police Department at MARFORRES NOLA seeks a Training Specialist to develop and deliver training programs for law enforcement personnel in New Orleans.

Job description

You will serve as a TRAINING SPECIALIST in the PROVOST MARSHALL OFFICE/MARINE CORPS POLICE DEPARTMENT of MARFORRES NOLA.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Teaching, training, researching, making presentations, lecturing, testing, and other instructional methods;
  • Determining objectives and strategies;
  • Coordinating with other parts of an organization to accomplish goals;
  • Monitoring and evaluating the progress and outcomes for learners;
  • Interpreting training requirements and curriculum needs and independently adapting training to fit the needs of the learner.

Continued Conditions of Employment

You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Marine Corps Range Safety Officer Course and Basic Instructor Certification within 1 year from the date of employment.

You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.

You will be required to obtain and maintain a current certification in the following within 2 years from the date of employment:

  • Non-lethal Weapons Instructor, including Taser, baton and Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) spray
  • small arms marksmanship instructor
  • Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) Instructor
  • Speed Measuring Instructor for Radar and Lidar
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Instructor
  • Gas Mask Fit Test Certification
