Job summary

Chemours International Operations Sàrl is seeking a Training Specialist to report to the Health, Safety & Training Manager, primarily working across locations in Florida and Georgia. The role involves organizing and conducting employee training, maintaining training records, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in a related environment, exceptional communication skills, and strong safety practices. Competitive compensation and benefits are offered.

Job description

The Training Specialist will report directly to the Health, Safety & Training Manager and work primarily at one of our Florida or Georgia locations.

Responsibilities
  • Organize and conduct employee training programs across Florida and Georgia.
  • Conduct ongoing evaluations to ensure effectiveness of programs and recommend modifications as necessary.
  • Develop new training programs as required.
  • Monitor training results through employee progress and maintain records of training attendance to evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Make determinations regarding an individual's ability to perform tasks and/or position responsibilities.
  • Participate in the site Process Safety Management (PSM) team as the Training Element lead, performing 1st‑party audits and reviewing training records and policies.
  • Maintain training records for the site and work with area trainers to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, site and corporate policies.
  • Provide training records for various regulatory audits as needed.
  • Own the Job Cycle Check process and drive improvements so area resources comply with corporate standards, company and site requirements, ensuring employees receive optimal refresher training.
  • Serve as the site representative on the corporate Training Development Network (TDN) team, communicating necessary information to site employees and presenting at TDN meetings to develop agendas, drive improvements in computer‑based training, and evaluate replacement systems.
  • Manage the monthly safety meeting program for the site, maintaining the Site Wide Communication tool and ensuring compliance with Safety How.
  • Coordinate, develop with Subject Matter Experts (SME), and deliver safety training to enhance operational discipline and safety compliance.
  • Proctor and manage progression testing for the site.
  • Manage the Vector Learning Manager (VLM) – work with SME and other training resources to ensure all VLMs are reviewed and ready before each quarter.
  • Collaborate with the corporate TDN team for input on future computer‑based training programs.
  • Coordinate and conduct training based on Mine Safety Health Association (MSHA) standard part 48.
  • Apply knowledge of occupational health best practices and corporate standards.
  • Conduct Incident Investigations (Root Cause Failure Analysis) training, if required.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a mining, heavy manufacturing or construction‑related safety environment (or equivalent military experience).
  • Demonstrated ability to complete work independently and by influence.
  • Train the Trainer or equivalent training course for delivering effective training.
  • Knowledgeable in safety practices and driving improvements to site safety policies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications database entry.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently, including numerous follow‑up actions and deadlines.
  • Ability to interact effectively and drive improvements across all levels of the site organization.
  • Minimum 3 years of mining experience to be eligible for MSHA Train the Trainer (Blue Card Holder).
  • General skills: self‑motivated, high safety standards, willingness to adjust schedule on short notice, strong oral communication for delivering training to individuals and groups, interpersonal and conflict‑resolution skills, strong oral and written communication from senior management to plant level employees, people‑management skills to establish trust, motivate, and train team members.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to facilitate collaboration among team members and stakeholders.
  • Capability to identify issues, troubleshoot problems, and propose solutions to improve mining processes.
  • High level understanding of mining industry, processes, equipment, and terminology to comprehend project requirements and challenges.

Pay Range (in local currency): $73,947.00 - $115,542.00

Chemours Level: 23

Annual Bonus Target: 6%
