Job summary

ManTech seeks a motivated Training Specialist to join our Arlington, Virginia team. This onsite role focuses on developing and delivering IT training programs for government personnel, including materials design, evaluation, and compliance with accessibility standards.

The candidate will coordinate multiple training projects and collaborate with managers to improve training processes. Minimum qualifications include 5 years in IT, a related Bachelor’s degree or IT certifications, and strong ISD

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in Information Technology (IT).
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Education, Information Technology, or IT certifications (e.g., MS-MCT, CompTIA CTT+, Agile).
  • Knowledge of Instructional Systems Design; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative and sound judgment.
  • Proficiency with hardware and software (PCs, Windows, MS Office).
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 tools.
  • Willingness to travel at least 5% domestically and internationally.

Job description

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Training Specialist to join our team in Arlington, Virginia . This is an onsite position.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide standards, services, and guidance on IT related training programs that are designed to enable government agency personnel to use information technologies and systems more productively. Services include the development, delivery, and/or coordination of training courses and materials that address specific agency needs.

  • Conduct training needs analysis; conduct Peer review of training material for accuracy.

  • Maintain policy and standards for training throughout development process; ensure training content is accurate based on outside feedback; monitor training changes and updates for dissemination and implementation.

  • Prepare training documentation; analyze existing training materials and make recommendations to update training processes to satisfy customer objectives.

  • Coordinate training activities according to training program; manage multiple training projects simultaneously involving successfully organizing, planning, and executing small-scale training projects from vision through implementation.

  • Use independent decision-making to design and develop training materials, reference materials, presentation materials and job aids; prepare student materials (course manuals, workbooks, instructor notes, and handouts).

  • Ensure all training materials are clear, concise, instructionally sound, and directly support learning objectives; ensure materials are 508 compliant; monitor training tasks in support of the goals of the Contractor Program Manager and the government sponsor(s) using standard training standards and software.

  • Provide input to the Training Manager and the Contractor Program Manager on areas of continuous improvement, work on all the assigned duties by the management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in Information Technology.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Education, Information Technology OR Information technology certifications (MS-MCT, CompTIA CTT+, Agile, etc.)

  • Knowledge of Instructional Systems Design; excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, effective decision-making.

  • Possess thorough knowledge of appropriate hardware and software (ex. - PCs, Microsoft (MS) Windows, MS Office.

  • Experience using Microsoft 365 productivity tools.

  • Must be able to travel at least 5% domestically and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with hotkeys and hotstrings preferred.

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies preferred.

  • Experience with multimedia development tools (Adobe Captivate, Articulate, Camtasia, etc.) preferred.

  • Experience with webinar software (Webex, MS Teams, Zoom, etc.) preferred.

  • Experience with applications such as ServiceNow and Salesforce) preferred.

  • Prior technical training experience preferred.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain an Interim Secret clearance prior to starting this position.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to deliver clear and effective communication both verbally and non-verbally to deliver updates; briefings; or interface with co-workers; leadership as well as customer.

  • Must be able to work in an office environment and be able to freely move within this space to utilize office equipment as well as interface with co-workers and customers.

  • Must be able to effectively use IT peripherals such as laptop, desktop, printer, fax machine, etc.

  • Must be able to deliver presentations as needed.

  • Must be able to review; decipher and understand program manuals; IT service requests; work orders; etc.
