Job summary

HII's Newport News Shipbuilding division seeks a Training Program Lead responsible for designing and delivering training for all levels of personnel. You will develop in-house programs, create tests and visual aids, and oversee contractors or vendors as needed to build effective training solutions.

The role requires a Bachelor's Degree with 6 years of exempt experience or a Master's with 4 years of relevant professional experience, plus familiarity with NX/Teamcenter.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree is required with 6 years of exempt experience; Master's Degree with 4 years of professional experience.
• NNS Apprentice School graduate or NNPS graduate is preferred.
• Various combinations of education + experience acceptable as listed in the posting.

The Role

Designs and delivers programs to train all levels of personnel. Develops tests and visual aids, conducts training classes, and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. Keeps abreast of training and development research: learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques. Develops in-house programs and practices to identify developmental needs, including preparing personnel for more responsible positions and increasing effectiveness in present assignments. May evaluate and/or oversee contractors or vendors to develop and/or administer training programs. May be responsible for development of e-learning programs.

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 4 year of relevant professional experience

• NNS Apprentice School graduate
• Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
• Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
• Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
• High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
• High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience

Nice to Have

• Must have - Working experience using Siemen's NX/Teamcenter for Ship Design – any discipline
• Desired – Working experience using routing tools within NX – any discipline (pipe, electrical, HVAC)
• Desired – Experience with sketching, Ship-checking, drafting
• Desired – Experience with submarine design
• Desired – Visual Work Instruction creation
