Job summary

UChicago Medicine is seeking a Training & Quality Consultant for its Burr Ridge Access Center. This full-time, onsite role focuses on developing and delivering training materials and curricula, while advancing quality programs and process improvements across departments.

You will design tutorials, create knowledge articles, and maintain training systems. Candidates should have a degree in education or healthcare administration or 3+ years of training experience, plus EPIC Cadence proficiency,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of related experience in progressive roles.
  • Three (3) years’ training, teaching, or business coaching experience.
  • Three (3) years’ experience working with EPIC Cadence in a practice or Access Center environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a facilitator for departmental and/or organizational training; assist in assessment, development and delivery of training materials and curriculum.
  • Facilitate training and quality programs; perform admin or operational tasks; assist in development of multimedia training materials and maintaining the training calendar and database.
  • Work with supervision to resolve issues involving deviations from policies and procedures; align training with industry standards and tech advancements.
  • Design training materials including knowledge articles, guides, presentations, and exercises.
  • Develop tutorials guiding end-users through diverse applications; generate high-quality documentation for different user groups.
  • Review and update existing documentation for accuracy and consistency; revise as needed to improve training materials and methods.
  • Develop and refine departmental quality monitoring standards and guidelines; drive continuous improvement.
  • Conduct audits and identify themes/trends in root cause analysis to support problem-solving and process improvements.
  • Document operational improvement opportunities and learner questions; summarize training content and skill levels with leaders.
  • Assist in project leadership, including scoping, planning, execution and closure; ensure timelines and deliverables are met.
  • Act as coach/mentor and train Level 1 personnel to enhance skills and capabilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine, as a Training & Quality Consultant at our Burr Ridge Access Center. This position is a 100% onsite opportunity. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area.

This position serves as a facilitator for departmental and/or organizational training, assisting in the assessment, development and delivery of associated training materials and curriculum. The employee will facilitate training & quality programs, performing assorted administrative or operational functions such as assisting in the research and development of multi‑media training materials for individual, departmental, and organizational‑wide presentation and maintaining the training calendar and database. Works with intermittent supervision and review; work problems involving departures from standard policies, interpretations, or procedures will be presented to the Management for review and direction on resolution. Exemplifies UChicago Medicine’s mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with UChicago Medicine’s policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions
  • Possesses a broad spectrum of knowledge encompassing multiple workflows and procedures across various specialties and departments.
  • Delivers new hire training in scheduling, registration, epic, revenue cycles, including the use of telephony platform, CRM, webchat, and other applications.
  • Designs and maintains training materials, including knowledge articles, guides, presentations, and exercises.
  • Develop tutorials that guide end‑users through the usage of diverse applications, simplifying complex tasks. Generate high‑quality documentation tailored to different user groups, ensuring information is clear and effective.
  • Conduct reviews and updates of existing documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency, and make revisions as needed. Continually enhancing training materials, methodologies, and content, keeping them aligned with evolving industry standards and technological advancements.
  • Develops and refines departmental quality monitoring standards and guidelines, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with industry best practices.

  • Document operational improvement opportunities and learner questions during training. Follow up with leaders to summarize training content and skill levels demonstrated.
  • Assists in project leadership, contributing to scoping, planning, execution, and closure phases, ensuring adherence to project timelines and deliverables.
  • Acts as a coach and mentor, providing guidance and support to team members, while actively participating in the training of Level 1 personnel to enhance their skills and capabilities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Adult Education, Educational Methods, Communications, Healthcare Administration or related field or 5+ years of related experience in progressive roles.
  • Three (3) years’ training, teaching, or business coaching experience.
  • Three (3) years’ experience working with EPIC Cadence in a practice or Access Center environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two (2) years’ revenue cycle experience.
  • EPIC certification or EPIC credentialed trainer.
  • Experience with Automated Call Distribution systems (Cisco preferred).

Compensation & Benefits Overview

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
