More information about Switchboard can be found at www.SwitchboardTA.org.The Training Officer will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of capacity-building initiatives related to newcomer and refugee services. This role includes providing training and technical assistance to service providers to support them in addressing the general resettlement and case management needs of refugees and newcomers. This role requires prior direct service experience working with clients, subject matter experts, and/or partners to develop culturally responsive service plans to address individual and family client needs utilizing a broad range of approaches, including client-centered, strength-focused, and trauma-informed to meet the social, safety and stability of newcomers.This staff will be responsible for producing and maintaining high-quality performance by collaborating with experts, designing effective resources, and facilitating learning experiences that contribute to improving outcomes for children, adults, and families.Major Responsibilities:Training and Technical AssistanceDevelop and deliver training related to refugee and newcomer services, to include webinars, self-paced, e-learning courses, online certificate courses, in-person training, etc.Provide consultation, guidance, and recommended resources via email and/or virtual meetings to refugee service providers across the U.S., in response to questions and technical assistance requestsProduce written learning resources including blog posts, information guides and toolkitsIncorporate feedback from internal and external reviewersLead development of multimedia resources, including e-learning modules, videos, and podcasts, in collaboration with colleagues across teamsCoordinate a monthly community of practice focused on refugee and newcomer emerging topic needsProject ManagementContribute to the creation of Switchboard’s annual training and technical assistance (TTA) workplan.Ensure related trainings and learning resources are developed and delivered on time and on budget.Use effective communication and collaborative skills with a wide range of stakeholdersManage external subject matter expert/consultant relationships and project plans as they contribute to the development of related TTA.Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)Oversee tracking of related TTA outputs and outcomes against targets (materials developed, trainings delivered, individuals participating, etc.)Together with Training Officers and Switchboard’s M&E team, review and analyze feedback data from related TTA participantsOversee provision of inputs into Switchboard reports, including monthly activity updates and semi-annual Performance Progress Reports.Other duties as assignedExperience:Required:Master’s Degree in a relevant field, such as Master of Social Work (MSW) or equivalent experience.Minimum 6 years of direct service experience with refugees and/or other ORR-eligible populationsExperience providing training and/or technical assistance to build the capacity of refugee service providersExperience providing client-centered, trauma-informed, and strength-based services for refugeesExperience providing pre- and post-arrival services to newcomer clients, supporting their access to educational, financial, medical, social, and community resources while promoting self-sufficiencyPreferred:Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Master of Social Work (MSW), or equivalent experienceDirect service work experience in refugee and newcomer education servicesLived experience with forced displacement or shared background with newcomer populationsExperience managing external subject matter experts and/or consultantsExperience contributing to project M&E (data collection, management, and reporting)Experience with evidence-based programmingKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Working knowledge of programs and services related to client-centered services for refugees and newcomer familiesExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English; including engaging public speaking abilitiesSelf-starter with ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a part of a teamCapacity to give and receive constructive feedbackStrong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing deadlines and efficient time managementAdequate technology literacy including intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite (Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel), and Zoom, with adaptability to learning new and innovative technology.Strong attention to detailLanguage Skills: Fluent in written and spoken English.Working Environment: This position is a remote working environment. Required domestic travel up to 20%.Compensation: (Pay Rate: $80,000 - $85,000/yr). Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget.
