The Training Manager will lead the development, implementation, and modernization of training programs for employees responsible for labeling and annotating EO and SAR imagery, including video formats. Responsibilities include optimizing workflows, developing best practices, maintaining high annotation accuracy, and ensuring compliance with project guidelines. Expertise in AI-assisted annotation tools, regulatory compliance, and evolving best practices in AI-driven image analysis is required. The role involves working closely with engineers, analysts, and policy experts to ensure adherence to U.S. regulations and ethical standards, including transparency, bias mitigation, and content authenticity.

Responsibilities:
  1. Design and deliver structured training programs for data annotators on labeling techniques, accuracy improvement, and tool proficiency, utilizing F8F’s machine learning-powered annotation tools and automation platforms.
  2. Develop and update curricula for annotators working with EO/SAR imagery, including video formats.
  3. Create specialized training for machine-assisted automated object detection on SAR imagery, metadata tagging, and transparency labeling.
  4. Collaborate with platform engineering, project managers, and specialists to improve automated validation scripts for bounding box, segmentation, and object classification.
  5. Provide hands-on training and mentorship to improve workforce skills in automated image classification and AI-assisted video analysis.
  6. Partner with analysts and data specialists to design upskilling pathways based on review insights and align training with mission goals.
  7. Implement continuous learning strategies, including refresher courses on regulatory updates and technological advancements.
  8. Establish metrics to evaluate employee proficiency in AI-assisted annotation techniques.
  9. Ensure annotation practices comply with President Biden’s Executive Order on AI (2023) and emerging federal/state laws.
  10. Educate employees on bias mitigation, fairness, and consumer protection laws outlined by the FTC and customer requirements.
  11. Optimize annotation workflows and refine labeling guidelines for efficiency and standards.
  12. Manage and improve annotation tools, working with geospatial and AI experts to refine guidelines and accuracy benchmarks.
  13. Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate advanced AI techniques into training curricula.
  14. Document procedures, generate performance reports, and optimize AI-assisted models for EO/SAR imagery.
  15. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in related fields (e.g., Geographic Information Science, Geospatial-Intelligence, Computer Vision, AI) with 5-8 years of experience in quality control programs, or HS Diploma with 10+ years in Geospatial Analysis, Engineering, or Cartography.
  2. Proven ability to develop and modernize training curricula for annotators and AI labeling specialists.
  3. Strong background in workforce development and training optimization.
  4. Deep understanding of EO/SAR imagery and geospatial analytics.
  5. Expertise in performance assessment and continuous learning strategies.
  6. Proficiency with automated annotation tools, deep learning segmentation models, and metadata tagging.
  7. Experience reviewing labeled imagery and datasets.
  8. Ability to implement ethical labeling and bias mitigation strategies.
  9. US Citizenship and Active Secret clearance.
Desired Qualifications:
  1. Master’s degree in related fields and 15+ years in Geospatial Engineering or GEOINT Operations, or Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  2. Certifications in AI Ethics, Machine Learning, GIS, or Regulatory Compliance.
  3. Extensive experience with AI-powered image and video annotation.
  4. Experience with government agencies or defense-related AI imaging programs.
  5. Knowledge of FTC laws, Biden’s AI Executive Order (2023), and AI transparency laws.
  6. Involvement with NIST, MIT Media Lab, or AI ethics organizations.
  7. Active TOP SECRET clearance.
