Job summary

ABB is seeking a Training Manager for its Fort Smith Motor Plant in the US to develop and execute comprehensive training and organizational development strategies. You will lead cross-functional training initiatives, drive safety culture, and measure program effectiveness to improve productivity and workforce readiness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 2 years of experience OR Associate’s degree with minimum 4 years of experience OR High School Diploma with minimum 6 years of experience.
  • 5+ years of training and development experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role within a manufacturing, industrial, or operations environment.
  • Proven success designing, implementing, and evaluating training programs that improve workforce capability, safety performance, compliance, and business results.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, learning management systems (LMS), training technologies, and virtual/hybrid learning delivery.
  • Demonstrated expertise in OSHA and regulatory compliance, safety training, workforce development, continuous improvement methodologies, and training effectiveness measurement.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, project management, and analytical skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

  • Lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of training programs, curricula, competency frameworks, and learning systems to build technical expertise, leadership capability, and workforce readiness.
  • Manage the training function and team, including resource planning, performance management, succession development, training analytics, and measurement of program effectiveness and return on investment.
  • Champion a culture of safety, compliance, and operational excellence by ensuring regulatory adherence, driving workforce development initiatives, and leveraging training to support continuous improvement, productivity, and employee engagement.
