NAVAL AIR TECHNICAL TRAINING CENTER in Pensacola is seeking a Training Instructor (FPN-68 RADAR/ILS) in the Air Traffic Control (ATC) Training Department. This is a re-advertisement of Announcement ST-13042013-26-ALV.

Candidates must be a graduate of the Navy PAR/ILS course or FAA/DOD equivalent with three years' experience. The instructor will teach and evaluate students on FPN-68A (Precision Approach RADAR) and ILS policies, apply basic electronics knowledge, and assist with training

Qualifications

  • Graduate of Navy PAR/ILS or FAA/DOD equivalent with three years' experience.
  • Knowledge of FPN-68A or similar precision approach systems and ILS policies.
  • Basic electronics knowledge: transistor theory, motors/servos, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong oral communication; able to articulate components, troubleshooting and maintenance to students.
  • Assist with training development of instructors and students.

Job description

You will serve as a TRAINING INSTRUCTOR (FPN-68 RADAR / ILS) in the Air Traffic Control (ATC) Training Department of the NAVAL AIR TECHNICAL TRAINING CENTER (NATTC). This is a Re-ADVERTISEMENT of Announcement Number: ST-13042013-26-ALV.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • A graduate of the Navy Precision Approach Radar/Instrument Landing System (ILS) course; or a graduate of a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or DOD equivalent course with three years' experience;
  • Possess a knowledge of FPN-68A (Precision Approach RADAR System) or similar Precision Approach systems and the Instrument Landing System (ILS) policies and procedures sufficient to teach and evaluate students during principles of operation and lab training.;
  • Possess knowledge and skill in basic electronics to include transistor theory, motors/servos, and six-step logical troubleshooting techniques.;
  • Thorough oral communication, computer literacy, reading and interpreting regulations and problem solving the employee/instructor shall be able to articulate to the student/s the main components, troubleshooting requirements, and general maintenance of the above listed systems;
  • Employee shall be able to assist with training development of other instructors and students.
