Qualifications

Job description

We are a leading psychological risk management consulting firm with 25-35 employees specializing in providing comprehensive pre-employment screening, fitness for duty assessment, independent medical evaluations, risk assessments, and consultation. With offices in three locations around the country, we are dedicated to assisting police and public safety organizations and private corporations with making informed decisions that contribute to safer and more productive workplaces and communities.

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Training Director to join our team. The Training Director will work closely with the Clinical Director to design, develop, implement, and evaluate training programs aimed at educating postdoctoral fellows and psychologists on psychological risk management strategies and best practices in police and public safety psychology.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist in the development and execution of training programs tailored to developing proficiency in police and public safety psychology.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Director, a Board-Certified Police and Public Safety Psychologist, to identify training needs, objectives, and learning outcomes.
  • Act as point of contact for trainees and supervisors for training related questions.
  • Work closely with the clinical and administrative team to create, annually review, and manage training manuals and guides.
  • Coordinate annual didactic schedule, presenters, and room reservation (physical or Microsoft Teams).
  • Coordinate annual hiring procedures (postdoctoral positions) to include :
  • Universal Psychology Postdoctoral Directory (UPPD) job postings, establishing hiring committees, creating applicant rating systems, interview day agendas, coordination for interview days, extending employment offers.
  • Work closely with the Clinical Director and Director of Operations in the recruiting and hiring process.
  • Conduct quarterly and annual reviews of trainees.
  • Conduct ongoing reviews and analyses to improve the overall health, success, and sustainability of the Psychological Dimensions training program.
  • Weekly one-on-one supervision with trainees.
  • Weekly Managers and Directors leadership meeting.
  • Monthly case consultation meeting.
  • Monthly didactics meeting.
  • Potential to assist with creating a doctoral-level internship program with the goal of APPIC and future APA accreditation for Police and Public Safety Psychological Evaluations.
  • Conduct research to stay updated on the latest developments, trends, and best practices in psychological risk management.
  • Coordinate and schedule training sessions, workshops, and seminars both internally and externally.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics.
  • Assist in the creation of training materials, presentations, and multimedia content.
  • Provide support and guidance to trainers, facilitators, and participants during training sessions.
  • Respond with an appropriate level of urgency to issues raised by postdoctoral fellows and direct reports, prioritize importance, and resolve issues or delegate as appropriate.
  • Model positive leadership through behaviors and attitudes that reflect and are consistent with the policies and values of Psychological Dimensions.
  • Maintain accurate records of training activities, attendance, and participant feedback.
  • Conduct police and public safety assessments to maintain a keen awareness of the workload, responsibilities, and related competencies necessary for best practice.
  • Review psychological evaluation reports to assist psychologists with ongoing education and training and to ensure good interrater-reliability commensurate with a sound training program.

Qualifications :

  • Doctoral degree in Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
  • Licensed in a Psypact state and APIT eligible.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in supervision, training, and development.
  • Strong knowledge of psychological assessment, forensic report writing, strategies, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hours of employment : Full-time employee will work five days per week (45-50 hours / week on average).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other training development tools.

Location : This role will be primarily remote with periodic travel required to office locations in Denver, Atlanta, and Chicago.
