Job summary

Missio Nexus is seeking a Training Coordinator to develop and lead training programs for the U.S. team, fostering professional growth and ministry effectiveness.

You will create individualized development plans, assess training needs, and coordinate with facilitators to deliver impactful workshops and encounters across ministry stages. The role emphasizes collaboration with team leaders, program evaluation, and ongoing improvement of training offerings to support U.S.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education, nonprofit management, or related field.
  • Experience designing and delivering training programs for diverse teams.
  • Ability to manage budgets and coordinate resources for training initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive training plan for the U.S. team.
  • Create individualized development plans for each team member.
  • Identify relevant trainings and coordinate with facilitators.
  • Develop and lead training programs across ministry stages.
  • Evaluate and improve training quality and outcomes.

Job description

The Training Coordinator will create and lead a team of people in resourcing U.S. team members with materials, opportunities and support for their continued growth in their role with OMF (U.S.) and in missions. They facilitate providing training for the U.S. team members and developing the trainings the U.S. team is providing to the American Christians and churches. They work closely with team leaders to ensure that every U.S. team member is following a plan for professional development and ministry gifting.

Major Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive training plan for the U.S. team
    • Ensure that every team member has an individualized development plan
    • Work with team leaders to help their team members with professional development
    • Communicate with the U.S. team about relevant OMF trainings
    • Identify which workshops are most needed for U.S. team members and work with appropriate workshop facilitators to ensure they are provided in a helpful way
    • Consult with team leaders about specialized training needs for their team
  • Develop and lead OMF (U.S.) training programs for each stage of ministry including:
    • New Team Member Orientation for team members when they first join the U.S. Team
    • Daniel Training to equip and enhance the ministry of each team member as they serve and grow in cultural humility
    • (Still to be developed) Training for leaders to grow their leadership effectiveness
  • Improve OMF (U.S.) training programs
    • Ensure every training and program has clear objectives and a helpful evaluation process
    • Improve the quality, professionalism and efficiency of OMF-sponsored trainings
    • Consult with team members responsible for internal training programs (such as OMF Intro Weekends, HEART, Serve Asia trainings, and team retreats and training) to help them define and evaluate outcomes for each training
    • Consult with team members running external training programs (such as the Discovery Workshop, Member Care Workshop, Prayer Training) to help them define and evaluate outcomes for each training
  • Other Responsibilities
    • Support the OMF (U.S.) Training team
    • Manage the OMF (U.S.) Training budget
    • Consult with the National Leadership Team on training strategies and priorities
    • Engage with OMF’s international Training and Development community
    • Network with training leaders in other organizations.
    • Identify and encourage potential workshop facilitators to receive needed training
    • Identify and introduce current tools and platforms to advance training goals
    • Look for ways to support workers sent from the U.S. through training
Qualifications
  • Love for Jesus Christ and growing relationship with him.
  • Passion for East Asia and reaching its peoples for God’s glory.
  • The ability to work within an international, interdenominational organization.
  • A teachable spirit and flexible attitude.
  • Experience in working with multi-cultural teams and organizations preferred
  • Passion for objective focused learning and ability to equip others with these same skills
  • Strong ability to lead through influence and to use the gifts of team members serving in training alongside their primary responsibilities
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and communication skills
  • Familiarity with OMF’s international training programs and courses (or willingness to learn about them)
Compensation

If not serving as a volunteer (i.e. unpaid), the financial remuneration for this position is“support-based.” This means that like most OMF (U.S.) personnel, the person who takes on thisrole will be asked to trust the Lord to provide the funds to cover the amount of the salary. Thisis done by forming a Partnership Team to pray for you and give towards the financial need.OMF will provide training about Partnership Development and a mentor to guide the process.The salary amount for this position is based on the ministry job requirements and the OMF U.S.salary guidelines. OMF also offers generous PTO and eligibility to participate in our 403(b) retirement program, training and development opportunities, and team retreats.
