Job summary

ZACHRY is seeking a Craft Training Coordinator for our Maintenance site CP Chem Cedar Bayou in Baytown, TX. The role requires NCCER craft certifications and journey-level experience to design, deliver and verify training programs on site.

The successful candidate will facilitate bilingual (English/Spanish) training, coordinate with the Talent Development team, and ensure safety and compliance across training activities. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • NCCER Certification required or equivalent.
  • Verified journey level craft experience (3–5 years).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access).
  • Strong communication skills and bilingual capability (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Talent Development programs for Craft, Equipment, Frontline Supervisor, Leadership and LM Systems in English and Spanish.
  • Ensure safety of all training participants and conduct inspections of shop, tools, materials and equipment.
  • Record and audit training processes and project craft training program documentation.
  • Create and coordinate bilingual training opportunities to address quality, safety and production deficiencies.
  • Collaborate with SADC students and foremen; track issues in student tracker for proactive follow-up.

ZACHRY is currently seeking a Craft Training Coordinator for our Maintenance site CP Chem Cedar Bayou, located in Baytown, TX. Specifically, an ideal candidate will hold CRAFT certifications such as Pipefitter, Millwright, Electrician, Boilermaker, Inst. Fitter, etc.. As this person will not only be instructing on safety topics but also assembly of equipment and various craft procedures on site.

MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE, PASS A DISA BACKGROUND CHECK, AND A DRUG TEST

The Craft Training Coordinator will have strong journey level skills and hold various NCCER craft certifications, will support the Talent Development team with the curriculum enhancement, facilitation of craft and leadership material while acting as the liaison between the project craft professionals and Talent Development to remediate training deficiencies. The individual must have decision making skills that enables them to plan and perform highly complex or technical work where no procedures or standard methods are available. This position may include, but is not limited to, the following functions:

  • Overall facilitation of Talent Development programs in both English and Spanish to include Craft, Equipment, Frontline Supervisor, Leadership and Learning Management Systems.
  • Ensure the safety of all training participants throughout the training, demonstration, practicing and performance verifications. Participate in the MPW process, while taking the lead on shop, tool, material and equipment inspections
  • Ensure compliance and consistency in training processes and procedures by recording and auditing various aspects for the project's craft training program(s) including but not limited to records, documents, processes and personnel.
  • Create, coordinate, and facilitate new bilingual training and development opportunities to mitigate quality, safety, production deficiencies for our craft personnel.
  • Perform scheduled collaboration with SADC students and their foreman; record key items in student tracker to allow for proactive engagement to all issues or concerns.
Job Requirements

Education: NCCER Certification. This position requires verified journey level craft experience. An associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school is preferred.

Experience: Over 3 to 5 year’s experience. Total experience can be accumulative over multiple journey level crafts.

Good communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Computer Software programs is needed.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Physical Demands:

  • Employees will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting and lifting.
  • Will talk and hear to communicate.
  • Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, pull objects, materials, controls and tools.
  • May be required to lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.
  • Will occasionally work at heights, climb ladders and stairways and work off of platforms.
  • Will use vision abilities to focus, see short and long distances, colors, depth perception and peripheral vision.
  • Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and steel-toe boots.

Work Environment:

  • Will work in all weather conditions ranging from warm/hot – cool/cold. Occasional rain.
  • Will work at different elevations. Noise levels will be moderate to high.
  • Job site will contain light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools.
  • People standing, walking, sitting, signaling and talking. Bells, whistles and alarms.
