The Cleaning Squad® is seeking an experienced, motivated Training & Business Development Lead to help develop our field team while supporting the continued growth of the company.

This is a hands-on leadership position combining employee training, quality assurance, field operations, customer relationships, and business development. The ideal candidate understands professional cleaning operations, enjoys teaching and developing others, communicates confidently with customers, and can recognize opportunities to expand the services we provide.

This is not a desk-only sales position. The Training & Business Development Lead will spend time in the field working with our cleaning teams, training employees, evaluating quality, meeting with prospective and existing clients, and helping ensure The Cleaning Squad® delivers a consistently high standard of service.

Training & Team Development
  • Train and onboard new Professional Cleaners in company procedures, cleaning methods, safety practices, equipment use, and customer-service standards
  • Provide hands-on instruction and coaching in the field
  • Evaluate employee performance and identify opportunities for additional training
  • Work with Leads and Supervisors to improve cleaning quality, consistency, efficiency, and accountability
  • Reinforce company Standard Operating Procedures and service standards
  • Assist with developing and improving training materials, procedures, and field processes
  • Introduce employees to specialty services and equipment as appropriate
  • Provide constructive feedback and help employees develop their skills and confidence
Quality & Field Operations
  • Conduct quality-control inspections and follow-up visits
  • Assist teams with challenging, unusual, or specialized cleaning projects
  • Help troubleshoot field issues and develop practical solutions
  • Evaluate cleaning methods, equipment, and procedures for effectiveness and efficiency
  • Support larger commercial, post-construction, and specialty projects
  • Help ensure jobs are properly staffed, equipped, and executed according to scope
Business Development
  • Meet with prospective residential and commercial clients when onsite assessments are required
  • Conduct walkthroughs to evaluate cleaning requirements and gather information needed for estimates
  • Develop relationships with property managers, contractors, businesses, and other prospective clients
  • Identify additional services that may benefit existing customers
  • Follow up on business opportunities and help convert qualified prospects into customers
  • Represent The Cleaning Squad® professionally at customer locations, networking opportunities, and community events
  • Assist management in developing new service opportunities and expanding existing customer relationships
Customer Relationships
  • Build positive relationships with new and existing clients
  • Help resolve service concerns and identify appropriate corrective actions
  • Follow up with clients when necessary to confirm satisfaction
  • Communicate service recommendations clearly without using high-pressure sales tactics
  • Serve as a knowledgeable field representative of The Cleaning Squad®
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in professional residential, commercial, janitorial, or post-construction cleaning
  • Previous experience training, mentoring, supervising, or leading employees
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Confidence interacting directly with customers and business decision-makers
  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to recognize quality issues
  • Ability to teach procedures clearly and constructively
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Comfort working independently as well as leading others
  • Basic computer and smartphone proficiency
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Experience in sales, estimating, account management, construction, property management, or business development is highly desirable but not required for an otherwise strong candidate.

Physical & Field Requirements

This is an active field position. Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of professional cleaning work, including standing for extended periods, bending, reaching, lifting and carrying equipment and supplies, and working at various residential and commercial locations.

The position may also involve operating or training employees on specialized cleaning equipment after appropriate company training.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who can move comfortably between teacher, field leader, problem-solver, and company representative.

One part of the day may involve showing a new cleaner how to work efficiently without sacrificing quality. Another may involve inspecting a commercial account, meeting a prospective customer, helping scope a specialty project, or identifying an opportunity to provide an existing client with an additional service.

Success in this role means helping our employees become better at what they do while helping The Cleaning Squad® build stronger customer relationships and grow.

Compensation: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

We are a veteran owned residential and commercial cleaning company. We provide general maintenance cleaning, deep cleaning, post-construction cleanup, move in/out cleaning, Airbnb housekeeping and event cleaning services.

This position may require you to work certain evenings (for marketing/events) and/or Saturdays. Can you work this schedule? *
