Job summary

AtkinsRéalis seeks a Workforce Development Project Manager to join the Lake City, FL team, supporting FDOT District Two with strategic workforce initiatives. The role partners with district leadership to guide workforce development, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness programs.

You will lead high-visibility training, coordinate stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement while delivering measurable value to the client in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communications, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Three or more years of experience in training, workforce development, employee engagement, adult education, communications, organizational development, or a related discipline.
  • Experience facilitating presentations, workshops, training sessions, or group discussions for adult learners.
  • Experience planning and coordinating events, programs, meetings, or training initiatives.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and public-speaking skills with the ability to engage audiences of varying backgrounds and experience levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to establish productive working relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt communication and instructional styles to meet audience needs.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, development and delivery of workforce development, leadership, and employee engagement initiatives supporting FDOT District Two’s strategic objectives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for key client stakeholders, working closely with District leadership to identify workforce needs, to develop solutions and advance organizational priorities.
  • Manage high-profile workforce development programs and special initiatives, ensuring alignment with client expectations, project goals, schedules and performance measures.
  • Deliver and oversee instructor-led training programs focused on leadership development, communication, workplace technology, employee engagement, and professional growth.
  • Facilitate executive-level workshops, strategic planning sessions, and learning experiences that promote organizational effectiveness, employee development, and knowledge transfer.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with district executives, management teams, project staff, subject matter experts, and external partners to support successful program outcomes.
  • Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to client leadership regarding workforce development trends, employee engagement and talent development opportunities.
  • Direct program implementation activities, including resource coordination, scheduling, stakeholder communications, risk management and issue resolution.
  • Oversee training and program logistics, ensuring the effective execution of meetings, workshops, events, and development activities.
  • Monitor program performance through data analysis, participant feedback, and key performance indicators; identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational efficiencies.
  • Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary teams, consultants, vendors, and subject matter experts to support program delivery and achieve client objectives.
  • Prepare executive briefings, reports, presentations, and strategic communications for District leadership and client stakeholders.
  • Support business development, innovative workforce strategies, and organizational initiatives that enhance employee capability, leadership readiness, and long-term workforce sustainability.
  • Perform additional leadership, project management, and client support responsibilities as needed to advance project success and organizational goals.

Overview

We are seeking a Workforce Development Project Manager to join our team in Lake City, Florida, supporting strategic workforce initiatives for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Two. Embedded within the District office, this position serves as a trusted partner to district leadership and key client stakeholders, providing leadership in workforce development, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, and talent development programs.

Working closely with executive leadership, managers, and subject matter experts, this role is responsible for managing the planning, coordination, and delivery of workforce development initiatives that support FDOT’s operational goals and long-term workforce needs. The selected candidate will lead high-visibility training and development programs, facilitate strategic learning opportunities, and help drive a culture of continuous improvement across a diverse workforce.

This position requires a strong combination of project management, stakeholder engagement and leadership development expertise. The successful candidate will be an accomplished communicator and relationship builder who can effectively engage employees at all organizational levels—from frontline staff and technical professionals to senior leadership. Additional information

Expected compensation range is between $90,000 - $120,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
