Job summary

Tri-County Action Program, Inc. is seeking a Training and Fleet Coordinator to join our Transportation team and lead employee training programs, fleet coordination and compliance for safe, reliable public transit services.

In this full-time role, you will administer operator and dispatcher training, coordinate vehicle assignments, manage training records and stay current with MN DOT requirements while promoting safety and exceptional customer service across locations including Waite Park, Little

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalency required.
• Experience in public transit, transportation, logistics, fleet operations, training or related field preferred.
• Proficiency with dispatch software and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and conduct new Transportation employee orientation and onboarding.
• Develop and deliver training for bus operators.
• Conduct behind-the-wheel instruction, ride evaluations, and performance coaching; identify training opportunities.
• Schedule and maintain required refresher training, certifications, and recertifications.
• Maintain accurate training records and compliance documentation.
• Update and maintain training materials, SOPs, and instructional resources.
• Support Drug and Alcohol training programs and record retention.
• Coordinate vehicle assignments and monitor fleet availability; communicate vehicle needs with vendors.
• Track preventive maintenance schedules, licenses and registration requirements.
• Ensure fleet records are accurate and audit-ready.

We are looking for a detail-oriented, safety-focused and professional individual to join our Transportation team as a Training and Fleet Coordinator! This position would be responsible for overseeing employee training programs, fleet coordination activities, and operational compliance to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient delivery of public transit services. This position administers operator and dispatcher training, coordinates vehicle-related compliance activities, and promotes a culture of safety and customer service throughout the entire organization.

The primary location for this full-time position would be at one of our garages, located in Waite Park, Little Falls, Milaca, Sauk Centre or Elk River, as best suits the candidate.

Primary Responsibilities include:

• Coordinate and conduct new Transportation employee orientation and onboarding
• Develop and deliver training for bus operators
• Conduct behind-the-wheel instruction, ride evaluations, and performance coaching; evaluate on the road performance end identify training opportunities.
• Schedule and maintain required refresher training, certifications, and recertifications.
• Maintain accurate training records and compliance documentation
• Update and maintain training materials, standard operating procedures, and instructional resources
• Support Drug and Alcohol training programs, requirements and record retention
• Coordinate vehicle assignments and monitor fleet availability; communicate vehicle needs with vendors
• Track preventive maintenance schedules, inspections, licenses and registration requirements
• Ensure fleet records are accurate, organized, and submitted to MN DOT, and audit-ready

Starting wage range for this full-time position is $26.97 - $33.72 per hour

Qualifications:

• HS Diploma or equivalency and three (3) years' relevant experience with public transit, transportation, logistics, fleet operations, training or a related field.
• Valid driver's license with CDL, Passenger endorsement and an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to maintain all licenses and certifications required to operate agency vehicles.
• Ability to use Dispatch software.
• Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, fleet and operational software systems
• Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings, weekends and holidays, and emergency response situations when necessary.
