Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is hiring a 2nd Shift Lead Trainer in Minooka, IL. The role includes leading training, supervising warehouse tasks, and driving safety and efficiency on a 2:30 PM–11:00 PM shift with mandated OT.

Base pay is $21.50/hr plus $1.00/hr Lead premium and $0.50/hr shift premium, paid weekly, with benefits including 401(k), PTO, and health coverage. RF scanners and forklift operation are key parts of daily duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year or more powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• One year or more lead experience preferred.
• One year or more Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) preferred.
• One year or more warehouse experience preferred.
• RF scanner experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and ensure continuous improvement efforts for optimal efficiency of the operations.
• Perform warehouse functions including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
• Allocate resources and organize daily work duties to team members.
• Inspire and guide team towards improved KPI’s using leadership styles.
• Assist in orienting employees with necessary information, technology and tools.
• Promote health and safety within the warehouse.
• Handle day-to-day paperwork (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading).
• Complete and submit daily reports and propose action plans to enhance operations.

• Hourly Pay: $21.50 per hour base

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• One (1) year or more powered industrial truck experience preferred
• One (1) year or more previous experience as Team Lead preferred
• One (1) year or more Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) preferred
• One (1) year or more previous warehouse experience preferred
• Knowledge and/or experience with an RF scanner advanced required
• Valid forklift operator's license certified
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Effective leadership skills
• Possesses flexibility to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Performs work independently with minimal supervision

• Assist in proving appropriate orientation for employees and give them the necessary information, technology and tools to perform their jobs.
• Assist with promoting health and safety working methods within the warehouse.
• Deal with day to day paperwork in a warehouse environment (i.e. picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.).
• Complete and submit daily reports and propose action plans to enhance operations effectiveness and service levels.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
