A leading healthcare organization is seeking a Trainer for Health Plan Operations. This role involves developing training programs, assessing trainee performance, and collaborating with management to enhance employee skills. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and experience in health insurance training.
Responsibilities
The incumbent will develop and conduct training programs to support the Operations Department of the Medicare Advantage plan and commercial product lines. The goal is to ensure employees have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their tasks accurately and effectively. Responsibilities include collaborating with management to identify staff training needs, providing feedback on trainee performance, creating teaching outlines, determining instructional methods, developing testing and evaluation procedures, and conducting various training sessions such as new employee orientations, developmental training, on-the-job role-specific training, compliance training, and refresher courses. The trainer will also assess trainees to measure progress and evaluate training effectiveness, assist management with creating and maintaining policies and procedures, and help develop and maintain the organization’s knowledge management system.

Qualifications
Education
Required: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or four years of experience in training or organizational development.
Preferred: N/A
Experience
Required: Four (4) years of experience in a health insurance or managed care environment with knowledge of healthcare delivery systems. Working knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations applicable to Medicare and commercial insurance products. Experience in classroom training, curriculum development, and training material creation, including guides and assessments.
Preferred: Prior experience in managed care claims, contact center, or enrollment operations. Government programs background preferred. Experience with knowledge management and learning systems development and implementation.

Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
Preferred: Working knowledge of Epic Tapestry system and TriZetto Enrollment Administration Manager (EAM) application.
