Travel: Approximately 50% within the region

We are seeking a Clinical Operations Trainer with a strong Medical Assistant background to support our Tennessee practices. This role is ideal for an experienced Medical Assistant who has a passion for teaching, coaching, and helping clinical teams deliver consistent, high-quality patient care.

As a member of the Clinical Operations Training team, you will support the onboarding and ongoing development of Medical Assistants and other practice team members across the Tennessee market. You will provide hands‑on training and “at-the-elbow” support to help new and existing team members build confidence, learn standardized clinical workflows, use the EMR effectively, and support efficient patient flow.

The Clinical Operations Trainer will also partner with practice and clinical leadership to identify training needs, support new practice integrations and acquisitions, and reinforce consistent clinical standards across the region.

What You’ll Do
  • Deliver hands‑on, virtual, and in‑person training for Medical Assistants and other clinical team members.
  • Support onboarding and role‑based training for newly hired Medical Assistants, including continued coaching during their first 90 days.
  • Provide “at‑the‑elbow” support in practices to reinforce clinical workflows, processes, EMR use, and patient‑care standards.
  • Help Medical Assistants develop the skills necessary to support safe, efficient patient flow and a positive patient experience.
  • Assess individual and practice-level training needs and identify opportunities for additional education or coaching.
  • Partner with practice managers, clinical leaders, Learning & Development, and subject matter experts to ensure training reflects current workflows, policies, and standards.
  • Support newly acquired or integrating practices by assessing training needs and helping implement practice‑specific training plans.
  • Facilitate training related to clinical workflows, operational processes, new technology, and EMR changes.
  • Develop and maintain training materials, including presentations, facilitator guides, job aids, practical exercises, and other resources.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback, observations, reporting, and performance metrics.
  • Adapt training approaches based on the learning needs and experience levels of individual team members.
  • Build strong relationships with clinical and non‑clinical teams and serve as a trusted resource for clinical operations and workflow questions.
  • Model professionalism, accountability, adaptability, and a patient‑centered approach in every interaction.
  • Manage multiple training initiatives and priorities across practices within the Tennessee market.
What We’re Looking For
  • 3+ years of Medical Assistant or comparable hands‑on clinical practice experience strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience training, onboarding, precepting, mentoring, or coaching Medical Assistants or other clinical staff strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Medical Assistant workflows and day‑to‑day primary care practice operations.
  • Minimum of 3 years of EMR experience; Athena experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting efficient patient flow and standardized clinical workflows.
  • Ability to confidently facilitate both in‑person and virtual training.
  • Strong coaching skills with the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback.
  • Ability to assess a learner’s needs and adjust the training approach to help them become productive and confident in their role.
