Qualifications

Job description

Glacier Federal, LLC is seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer to deliver injury-prevention, evaluation, immediate-care, rehabilitation, and human-performance support to military personnel. The Athletic Trainer will work alongside physical therapy, strength and conditioning, cognitive-performance, and Government medical personnel to keep operators healthy, available, and mission ready.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct and document physical performance screens and assessments and provide individualized feedback within the athletic-training scope of practice.
  • Evaluate and manage activity-related injuries and conditions; provide immediate care, therapeutic intervention, rehabilitation, and appropriate referral.
  • Develop and implement injury-prevention, corrective-exercise, mobility, recovery, and reconditioning strategies for tactical athletes.
  • Support safe progression from injury through rehabilitation, modified training, and return to full operational activity in coordination with medical and performance staff.
  • Provide training-event and exercise support as required by the program schedule and mission.
  • Develop remote injury-management, corrective-exercise, or reconditioning plans when requested and appropriate.
  • Track injuries, encounters, referrals, utilization, and outcomes for required reporting and program analysis.
  • Inspect, clean, and support routine care of athletic-training, rehabilitation, recovery, and emergency-response equipment.
  • Collaborate with the integrated human performance team and participate in required care-coordination and program meetings.
  • Document encounters, referrals, outcomes, and Government-defined metrics accurately and within required timelines.
  • Contribute discipline-specific findings and recommendations to program reports, assessments, planning, and continuous improvement.
  • Protect sensitive information, maintain professional boundaries, and comply with all scope-of-practice, privacy, safety, installation, and security requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in athletic training or a closely related field that satisfies Oregon licensure requirements.
  • Current Athletic Trainer Certification through the Board of Certification (BOC).
  • Current, unrestricted Oregon Athletic Trainer license before the start of performance.
  • Current Basic Life Support and CPR/AED certification from a nationally recognized provider.
  • Demonstrated competence in injury prevention, clinical evaluation, emergency care, therapeutic intervention, rehabilitation, and return-to-activity support.
  • Ability to maintain complete, accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in athletic training, sports medicine, kinesiology, exercise science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting military, special operations, tactical, collegiate, professional, or elite athletic populations.
  • Experience with field coverage, high-risk training, injury surveillance, performance testing, and interdisciplinary care coordination.
  • Prior Federal healthcare, DoD, military human-performance, or tactical experience.
  • Active Secret security clearance.
Work Conditions and Employment Requirements
  • On-site supporting an Air National Guard unit in Portland, Oregon; telework is not authorized.
  • Core service window: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., excluding federal holidays and authorized closures.
  • Schedule flexibility is required for quarterly drills, annual training, mission needs, and occasional approved travel.
  • The program maintains essential services during designated crises and 24/7 on-call support during domestic-response crises, with a four-hour response requirement. Assignments will be coordinated by program leadership.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance and required installation/system access, including a Common Access Card.
  • Employment is contingent upon contract award, Government acceptance, required screening, and satisfaction of all access and credentialing requirements.
