Job summary

The Lockwood Group in the United States is seeking a New Equipment and Field Operations Support professional to lead fielding of equipment and provide configurations to meet mission needs.

You will train government network admins, conduct system check-outs, and perform installations and upgrades across CONUS, with travel over half the time. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree, Windows/Linux/Cisco skills, and a DoD Secret clearance to qualify.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field.
• Proficiency with Windows desktop and server environments.
• Experience with Linux (CentOS 7–8).
• Networking experience on Cisco devices.
• Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Perform Total Package Fielding (TPF) functions IAW AR and DA PAM 700-142 with gaining unit/organization in CONUS at home stations, TDY locations, and/or field missions.
• Travel to customer locations to assess fielding needs and provide configurations/solutions to meet fielding requirements.
• Interface with Government customers as the primary technical SME for training network administrators, configuring servers and virtual infrastructure, and implementing live networks.
• Perform joint system check-out of each system installation prior to issue.
• Conduct technical analysis for system implementations, modifications, and potential enhancements.
• Perform engineering assessments of new equipment and software upgrades for integration into required systems.
• Troubleshoot system problems and/or integration issues, determine system solutions, and recommend actions to the customer.
• Cross Training: Participate in formal training and self-instruction on complementary systems and protocols.

New Equipment and Field Operations Support

• Perform Total Package Fielding (TPF) functions IAW AR and DA PAM 700‑142 with the gaining unit/organization in CONUS at unit home stations, TDY locations, and/or during field missions.
• Travel to customer locations to assess unit equipment fielding needs and provide systems configurations/solutions to meet fielding requirements and ensure operability.
• Interface directly with Government customers as the primary technical SME for training organizational network administrators, configuring servers and virtual infrastructure, and implementing live networks.
• Perform joint system check‑out of each system installation prior to issue.
• Conduct technical analysis for system implementations, modifications, and potential enhancements.
• Perform de‑installations, installations, and hand‑offs for specified systems.
• Troubleshoot system problems and/or integration issues, determine system solutions in accordance with customer needs, and recommend actions to the customer.
• Perform engineering assessments of new equipment and software upgrades for integration into required systems.

Curriculum Development

• Coordinate with Government customers to prepare and maintain TPF and NET plans for current and future systems.
• Create customized training plans based on current systems, new system upgrades, and mission‑specific requirements.

Training Services

• Provide delivery of instruction through both field and classroom training/operations.
• Work may be required at night and in inclement weather.
• Coordinate classroom set‑up to support each individual class.
• Provide modernization instruction on the operations and maintenance of supported systems, both standard and non‑standard.
• Serve as primary fielders, installers, instructors, assistant instructors, and/or demonstrators.

Cross Training

• Participate in formal training and self‑instruction on complementary systems and protocols to increase breadth of systems competency for training and fielding requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (additional years of directly related experience may offset degree requirements).
• Proficiency in Windows desktop, Windows Server, Linux (CentOS 7‑8), and Cisco networking devices.
• Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain.
• Required travel: more than 50%.
