Job summary

Penn State Health Milton Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA is seeking a Trainee PCA for the 5 Acute Care Surgical Specialties to join a day shift team. The role provides direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision, supporting nursing staff and prioritizing patient needs on a 7:00a–7:00p schedule.

The position offers on-site, full-time exposure to a busy surgical unit, with opportunities to learn in a Magnet-designated academic medical center and participate in a comprehensive

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care. Maintain awareness of patient population needs and scheduling requirements, provide ongoing communication with nursing staff for assigned patients, and prioritize patient care in conjunction with other team members consistently. Assist the team in meeting patient and family goals. Supervision and direction is provided by the Registered Nurse.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION :

The 47-bed acute care unit provides care for patients from a variety of surgical specialties, including gastroenterology, bariatric surgery, gynecological oncology, urology, colon and rectal, minimally invasive trauma, emergency general surgery and surgical oncology.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
